Frame Mount Bike Carriers allow you to keep the front wheel on the bike.
This makes it faster to load them onto the vehicle and prevents you from having to store the wheel inside the tub area, which would take up valuable gear space.
Frame Mount Bike Carriers are mounted directly to Cross Bars which are mounted onto the Destroyer Side Rails.
Frame Mount Bike Carriers are not an accessory supplied by Utemaster. However, a local Roof Rack Store will be able to advise what kind of carrier is best suited to your bike and help you fit it to the Cross Bars.
To mount a bike to a Fork Mount Bike Carrier the front wheel of the bike must be removed.
Simply remove the front wheel and clamp the bike’s quick-release system into the fork mount.
Please note, if a thu-axle adapter is required we recommend the non-locking mount because the adapter cannot be locked.
We also recommend securing the rear wheel with tie points on the Load-Lid.
Fork Mounts are not supplied by Utemaster, however, a bike shop or 4x4 store will be able to help you mount these to the Load-Lid.
Most Frame Mount Bike Carriers have a limited load capacity of around 17-20kg, however, most e-bikes are heavier than this.
We recommend talking to a local bike shop that will be able to help you find the right carrier for your needs.
It's also important to remember that removing the battery from your bike can reduce the weight by around 5-9kgs.
